6.4.5 Exhibit E
Reclamation Plan
MacKenzie Pit
March 5, 2010
Final reclamation of the mined area will be industrial/commercial land use. Reclamation will
occur concurrently with mining as maintaining final slopes and pit floor. The mine floor will be
graded for stormwater drainage into existing stormwater management structures. The mine
floor will not be vegetated.
Mining will continue toward the west and south. Slopes will be maintained at a 3:1 grade or
gentler during mining. Mining will daylight to the north, west and the south along Highway 115.
Only the central southern boundary adjoining the communication center and adjoining neighbor
will be sloped during final reclamation.
Plant growth material will be stockpiled during mining or immediately placed on slopes ready for
reclamation. Slopes will be vegetated according to the US Soil Conservation Service plan in
Exhibit J. All slopes not already stabilized and vegetated will be contoured to a 3:1 slope during
mining.
Of the 24.78 acres in the mine permit, approximately 1.5 acres will be sloped in the final
reclamation of the site. The remaining 23.23 acres will be graded flat, with appropriate
stormwater drainage, for development as industrial/commercial.
A 25 foot setback will be maintained around the communication center, adjoining neighbor
property, any utility line and Highway 115.
The concrete washout pond located in the southwest corner of the site is not part of the
proposed mine area.
