Probable Hydrologic Consequences
The Bear Coal Company's prediction of the TDS in the river increasing from 110 mg/1 to 140
mg/1 was in line with the results obtained in 2009.
Adequacy Review Comments
The Division has the following two requests for future AHRs:
1. The letters "U" and "B" are used in several of the data presentations but no definitions are
given. The letter "U" is used in the pond discharge tables on pages 5 and 6, in the
hydrology monitoring data on page 7 and in several of the ACZ data sheets. The letter
"B" is used in several of the ACZ data sheets. All uses of "U" and "B" appear to concern
TSS. Please revise the text, perhaps in the introduction section, of future AHRs to
explain the meaning of the letters "U" and "B".
2. On the water elevation graph for AA-1 and AA-3, the data for AA-1 stop with the year
1997. However, depth to water information through 2009 for AA-1 is available and
shown on another graph so conversion to water elevation is possible. Please revise this
graph in future AHRs to include these data.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Vr Wash
ental Protection Specialist
cc: Jim Stover (J.E.
