The operator
believes the reason for this difference is as follows:
• 1. The rocky soil made topsoil salvage very difficult.
2. The steep terrain made topsoil salvage very difficult.
3. The soil survey assumed a constant topsoil depth of 30- inches over
approximately 40 acres. The topsoil depth actually varied
substantially from a few inches to a few feet.
The operator believes all reasonably available topsoil was salvaged.
The 87,600 cubic yards of topsoil was initially located in three topsoil
stockpiles as follows:
Stockpiles B & C were subsequently relocated to stockpile A during the
downhill conveyor project.
J
PR -12 2.05-51- 2/10
Pile A
Pile B
File C
Quantity (CY)
83,300
2,800
1,500
Stockpiles B & C were subsequently relocated to stockpile A during the
downhill conveyor project.
J
PR -12 2.05-51- 2/10
