• Savage and Savage
Memorandum
To: Donald W. MacDonald, Coors Energy Company
From: Michael Savage, Savage and Savage, Inc.
Date: December 2, 2009
Subject: Fourth Quarter 2009 Pest and Disease Inspection; Keenesburg Mine
File #: C-81-028
On December 1, 2009, in conjunction with a site visit by CEC, CDRMS, and CSU
representatives, I conducted an inspection of the operational, reclaimed, and revegetated
areas at the Keenesburg Mine for evidence of plant pests, noxious weeds, and plant
diseases that could affect the re-established vegetation at the Keenesburg Mine.
Selected operational, reclaimed, and revegetated areas of the mine were inspected by
pedestrian and vehicle means, including Areas 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22,
25, 29, 30, 31, and 31P (that had been seeded on October 16, 2009). The dugout area, the
small cottonwood grove, topsand piles, the B Pit bottom and side slopes, and long-term
overburden storage area were also visually inspected from the vehicle for any potential
problem areas.
I did not identify any disease conditions at any of the operational, reclaimed, or
revegetated areas of the mine site. I did not identify any plant pests which had affected
the growth of the vegetation during the growing season. No areas which experienced any
infestation or blight were found during the inspection. No patches of noxious weed
species were observed, nor were any areas observed where weeds, plant pests, or disease
showed a deleterious effect to the live vegetation.
C: Keenesburg Pest and Disease Inspection File
Danny Kipp, Keenesburg Mine

AHR-2009 -31-
