Box 426 MAY 0 5 2008
Paonia, CO 81428 Division or Keclamation,
Mining and Safety
Re: Bowie Resources LLC - Bowie No. 2 Mine
Vegetation Plan
Dear Mr. Madariaga:
During 2002 you reviewed Bowie's vegetation- plan. Your comments were transmitted
to the undersigned by your letter dated May 15, 2002. Bowie changed its seed mix
based on your recommendations but did not deal with your recommendation regarding
shrub clumps.
Bowie has developed seed mix no. 8 specifically for shrub clump planting based upon.
recommendations from DRMS. Bowie has included a commitment in its reclamation
plan to plant some small shrub clumps (from one two three acres in size) interspersed
throughout the reclaimed area as shown on Map 18. The shrub clumps will not be
subjected to any intensive management measures. However, the clumps will be
temporarily fenced if wildlife browsing proves to be a limiting factor in the establishment
of the shrub clumps.
Enclosed is a copy of the vegetation section from Bowie's mining permit along with Map
18 that shows the proposed location of the shrub clumps. Please review and comment
on Bowie's revised reclamation plan.
Sincerely,
?f
J. E. Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
