LAW ENFORCEMENT <br />Law enforcement matters in unincorporated areas, other than vehicle and other <br />traffic related accidents, should be handled by the sheriffs office for the county in which <br />the matter occurs. <br />Traffic accidents on public roads are the responsibility of the State Highway <br />Patrol, regardless of where they occur For traffic accidents on the private road areas of <br />the quarry (from the tourist parking area to the quarry portal), the Gunnison County <br />Sheriff should be contacted. <br />The public road from Marble to the quarry and County Road 3 are located in <br />Gunnison County. All non-traffic law enforcement issues along this corridor should be <br />handled through the Gunnison County Sheriff. <br />The majority of Highway 133 from just north of the intersection with County <br />Road 3 until just south of Carbondale is in Pitkin County. All law enforcement issues <br />along this corridor should be handled through the Pitkin County Sheriff. <br />From just south of Carbondale along Highway 133 and into Glenwood Springs, <br />all law enforcement issues should be reported to and handled through the Garfield <br />County Sheriff. <br />Within the city limits of Carbondale, law enforcement matters should be handled <br />through the Municipal Police of Carbondale. <br />Within the city limits of Glenwood Springs, law enforcement matters should be <br />handled through the Municipal Police of Glenwood Springs. <br />The following are the contacts for the above law enforcement entities: <br />1.
