Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (DRMS) has finished the review process for the above
referenced 110c application. The final issue prior to issuing a decision is the reclamation liability
estimate (bond). Please find attached the "Final Reclamation Liability Estimate". The estimate is based
on a worst case scenario that DRMS would have to reclaim the site midway through the mining process.
Therefore a highwall would probably exist that would have to be sloped to 3:1, an area of approximately
2 acres would need to ripped due to compaction by equipment and stockpiling, and seeding of the area
for final reclamation.
Please review the estimate carefully. If there are any errors or issues that need to be clarified please
contact staff as soon as possible. If Wagner Rock accepts the estimate please let staff now accordingly
so that the review process can be finalized.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by telephone
no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
G.
