December 21, 2009 Gillette Sand and Gravel V. Chris Pyles 20575 HWY 24 Woodland Park, CO 80863 To Qwest, Gillette Sand and Gravel operates a mine under Department of Reclamation, Mining and Safety permit # 1992-009 on a parcel of land located close to Victor Colorado. The address is 2708 County Rd #81 and Hwy. 67 South Gillette, Colorado. While working in the mining area we came across an-unmarked phone line. We - looked at the Teller County Clerk and Recorder office for record of this line and could not find any record of it and the initial mining permit as no record of the line to be in existent. Gillette Sand and Gravel called the Qwest developer contract group at 800-526-3557, at the end of June 2009, but there was no answer. At which time we left a detailed message regarding the situation, but no return call was received. The week of July 09, 2009, we called 811 Utility Notification Center of Colorado and requested a locate on the entire line on our property. We were not familiar with the system and we did not get a ticket number on this call. Nor was a locate or a response received as of August 7, 2009. We called again; ticket # A0200005 was given to us. Again no locate had been done by August 18, 2009. At which time we contacted two different locate companies, Utility Locaters of Colorado Central Locate, 800-922-1987 and Utility Notification Center of Colorado. Again a ticket was received # B0097098 from Jackie. We were informed that the locate would be done By August 20, 2009. On August 19, 2009 the locate was still not done. Utility Notification Center of Colorado was again contacted and Ticket # A020000501A was given and completed on August 20, 2009. Gillette Sand and Gravel believes that because this is not a legal recorded phone line, it should be removed from our property. Please respond to us by, September 30, 2009 at 719-687-3111.
