ameO <br />Earth S Environmental <br />using a CAT D-10 dozer and a CAT D-9 dozer. Material generated as the cut progressed was <br />pushed down the slope. <br />E) Overburden to Stockpile <br />1) VLF <br />Oversize rock within the Phase 5 VLF fill area was removed from fill areas and hauled to the <br />overburden stockpile area east of the east perimeter road near stations A28+00 (+/-) to A36+00 <br />F) Cut to Fill <br />1) VLF <br />A CAT 385 excavator and a John Deere 850 excavator were used to excavate structural fill <br />material from the following areas: between stations E 14+00 (+/-) and E 18+00 (+/-), <br />approximately 50 to 100 feet right of centerline; between stations H9+00 (+/-) and H13+00 <br />(+/-), approximately 0 to 50 feet right of centerline; and between stations H24+00 (+/-) and <br />H26+00 (+/-), approximately 250 to 300 feet left of centerline. The structural fill material was <br />loaded into CAT 777 haul trucks. <br />Prior to structural fill placement existing fill areas were ripped and frost was allowed to thaw <br />or was removed. Existing fill temperature were monitored and found to be above 32°F before <br />fill placement. An AMEC representative monitored ambient temperatures on an hourly basis <br />during fill placement. Fill temperatures were monitored during ambient temperatures below <br />32°F and averaged 37°F to 41 T. On average, fill preparations were performed for one to one <br />and a half hours before fill temperatures were within project specification. <br />Structural fill was placed between stations B0+50 (+/-) and B7+00 (+/-), approximately 50 feet <br />left of centerline to 50 feet right of centerline and between stations C0+00 (+/-) and C5+00 <br />(+/-), approximately 50 feet left of centerline to 50 feet right of centerline. Structural fill was <br />placed in 18" to 24" lifts using various CAT dozers. Each lift was moisture conditioned using a <br />CAT 773 water truck (when necessary) and compacted using a 10-ton vibratory smooth drum <br />compactor, passing over the entire fill surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique is <br />applicable). Ambient and fill temperatures were monitored and recorded during fill placement. <br />Blast pattern drilling was performed between stations E8+00 (+/-) and E14+00 (+/-), <br />approximately 30 feet left of centerline to 50 feet right of centerline. Blasting was performed in <br />these areas Thursday (1/14/2010) and Friday (1/15/2010). <br />G) Material Processing <br />1) South Cresson Clay Processing Area <br />Processing of Soil Liner Fill material continued at the South Cresson Clay Process.
