The purpose of this letter is to
notify you that the Division has scheduled a Public Meeting to describe our review process and to discuss
this permit revision. The meeting will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18'h at the
Nucla Fire Hall.
The Division required WFC to submit an application to revise the coal mining permit for the New
Horizon Mine because of certain inconsistencies found to exist within the current permit. WFC submitted
the PR-06 application to the Division on November 12, 2009 and ran a public notice in the San Miguel
Basin Forum, as required by Division rules, beginning on December 3'd.
The Division has conducted its own Preliminary Adequacy Review of the PR-06 application. Our
comments are enumerated in a letter to WFC dated 22 January 2010. A copy of this letter is posted at the
Montrose County Nucla Annex for public viewing, along with the permit, the revision application, and all
public and agency responses received.
