Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) received written comments from you <br />regarding the PR-06 application submitted by Western Fuels - Colorado, LLC (WFC) for the <br />New Horizon Mine. The purpose of this letter is to notify you that the Division has scheduled a <br />Public Meeting to describe our review process and to discuss this permit revision. The meeting <br />will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18`i' at the Nucla Fire Hall. <br />The Division required WFC to submit an application to revise the coal mining permit for the <br />New Horizon Mine because of certain inconsistencies found to exist within the current permit. <br />WFC submitted the PR-06 application to the Division on November 12, 2009 and ran a public <br />notice in the San Miguel Basin Forum, as required by Division rules, beginning on December 3`d <br />The Division has conducted its own Preliminary Adequacy Review of the PR-06 application. <br />Our comments are enumerated in a letter to WFC dated 22 January 2010. A copy of this letter is <br />posted at the Montrose County Nucla Annex for public viewing, along with the permit, the <br />revision application, and all public and agency responses received.
