One intent of the inspection was to examine the gob disposal site
expansion area. CAM had requested to expand the gob pile 1/10 of an acre to store coal fines
and waste rock generated from the McClane Canyon coal mine operation as they can no longer
use the Munger Canyon waste rock disposal area.
Based on observations made during the inspection and information contained in the permit
revision narrative and maps, this office concurs with the DRMS approval of the proposed plan
for the waste disposal site. Our concurrence is subject to the following conditions:
1. The BLM shall be notified at least 48 hours prior to commencement of surface disturbing
activities.
2. The expansion area shall be cleared of trees, snow and heavy brush prior to any construction.
Stumps shall be buried in the waste pile. Any stump left in place shall be cut so that the stump
height does not exceed 12 inches. All slash less than four inches in diameter shall be chipped
or scattered outside the cleared area and must be within 24 inches of the ground at all points.
All material four inches in diameter or greater shall be removed from Federal land, unless
otherwise directed. A wood permit from BLM for 5 cords shall be required prior to any
clearing.
United States Department of the Interior
BUREAt` OF LA'I'D MANAGEMENT
Grand Junction Field Office
2815 H Rd
Grand Junction, Colorado 81506
www.co.blm.gov/gjra/gjra.html
???1
4 ell"
/- - °
