than what the Division used for the poured-in-place concrete cap for the vent shaft. Please
inform the Division in writing whether or not the Division's estimate is acceptable to BRL.
Surface Water Hydrology
4. Referring to proposed Map 42, it appears that surface water runoff from the road and hill
slope above the pad can flow across the pad and pad entrance. Please consider adding a
surface water management system to the pad design, such as an upland diversion ditch above
the pad and a culvert at the entrance to the pad, or explain why such a design change is not
needed.
5. Please include in the permit application text a description of the surface treatment for the
pad, such as gravel for example, that would justify the curve number of 87.
Other Agency Letters
6. Attached is a letter from the Bureau of Land Management, dated January 13, 2010,
concerning TR-66. Please respond to the issues brought up in this letter as part of the TR-66
adequacy review.
7. In a letter dated January 6, 2010, the Division forwarded to BRL a comment letter from the
Colorado Historical Society, dated December 29, 2009. Please respond to the issues brought
up in this letter as part of the TR-66 adequacy review.
If you have any questions, please call me.
Sincerely,
Joseph J. dash
Environmental Protection Specialist
Attachments
cc: Jim Stover P.E.
