ame6y- <br />E) Overburden to Stockpile <br />1) VLF <br />Oversize rock within the Phase 5 VLF fill area was removed from fill and cut areas and hauled <br />to the overburden stockpile area east of the east perimeter road near stations A29+00 (+/-) to <br />A32+00 (+/-) right of centerline. <br />F) Cut to Fill <br />1) VLF <br />A CAT 385 excavator and a John Deere 850 excavator were used to excavate structural fill <br />material from the following areas: between stations E6+00 (+/-) and E9+00 (+/-), <br />approximately 50 left of centerline to 50 feet right of centerline; between stations E12+00 (+/-) <br />and E15+00 (+/-), approximately 100 to 150 feet right of centerline; between stations F1+50 <br />(+/-) and F2+50 (+/-), approximately 200 to 250 feet right of centerline; and between stations <br />1-13+10 (+/-) and H4+75 (+/-), approximately 250 to 275 feet left of centerline. The structural <br />fill material was loaded into CAT 777 and 40-ton articulating haul trucks. <br />Prior to structural fill placement existing fill areas were ripped and frost was allowed to thaw <br />or was removed. Existing fill temperature were monitored and found to be above 32°F before <br />fill placement. An AMEC representative monitored ambient temperatures on an hourly basis <br />during fill placement. Fill temperatures were monitored during ambient temperatures below <br />32 °F and averaged 33 OF to 49 c'. <br />Structural fill was placed in the following areas: between stations B0+50 (+/-) and B8+00 (+/-), <br />approximately 100 feet left of centerline to 100 feet right of centerline; between stations <br />D 1+00 (+/-) and D4+50 (+/-), approximately 75 feet left of centerline to 75 feet right of <br />centerline; and between stations F0+50 (+/-) and F7+00 (+/-), approximately 100 feet left of <br />centerline to 100 feet right of centerline. Structural fill was placed in 18" to 24" lifts using <br />various CAT dozers. Each lift was moisture conditioned using a CAT 773 water truck (when <br />necessary) and compacted using a 10-ton vibratory smooth drum compactor, passing over the <br />entire fill surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique is applicable). Ambient and <br />fill temperatures were monitored and recorded during the placement of the processed ore in <br />this area. <br />Structural fill (processed ore) was placed within the Phase Iva VLF between stations G0+00 <br />(+/-) and G29+00 (+/-), approximately 0 to 75 feet right of centerline. Fill material (processed <br />ore) was excavated from the Phase IVc re-certification area, the old LOB haul road, and the <br />southeast corner of Phase IVa using a CAT 375 excavator loading the material into 40-ton <br />articulating haul trucks. Structural fill was placed using a CAT D-8 dozer in 12" loose lifts and <br />moisture conditioned as needed using a CAT 773 water truck. Compaction was achieved using <br />a 10-ton vibratory smooth drum compactor. Nuclear density testing was performed with results <br />averaging 95% of maximum dry density. Moisture density relations were obtained in <br />accordance with ASTM D698-07. Ambient and fill temperatures were monitored and recorded <br />during the placement of the processed ore in this area. <br />Blast pattern drilling was performed between station 171+00 (+/-) and F3+00 (+/-), <br />approximately 275 to 300 feet right of centerline and between stations G1+00 (+/-) and G6+00 <br />VLF Weekly Report WE 12.19.09.D.doc
