INTRODUCTION I <br />The Gehrman Pit is located approximately 0.5 miles east of Craig Colorado in Moffatt County, <br />between Highway 40 and the Yampa River. This pit is located adjacent to the existing Bunn <br />Ranch Pit. It is located on a parcel of land owned by Mark and Lori Gehrman who also own the <br />subsurface mineral rights. The site is situated between a branch of the Yampa River to the north <br />and east, the Bunn Ranch Pit property to the west and the Bunn Ranch Pit to the south The site <br />is leased to Elam Construction for the purpose of gravel mining and aggregate production <br />Approximately 31.2 acres of disturbance will take place within the 38.33 permit boundary with <br />26.8 acres of that being used for mining. The reclamation plan will create a lake of 22.91T-he <br />between Highway 40 and- the Yampa River-. This pit is laeated adjaeent to the existing Lafttfge <br />Raneh Pit to the south. The site is leased to Elaffi Genstmetion for- the Ptffpese ef gfffvel fflifiiiig <br />38.33 per-mit betmdat-f, with 28.9 aer-es ef dial beifig used fef fflifting. The feelafflatieft Plan will <br />reale a lake of 24.98 acres. It is currently planned that areas of land around the lakes would be <br />wildlife habitat and recreation. <br />The neighboring Bunn Ranch Pit is owned and permitted by Elam Construction. <br />The permittee for this site is Elam Construction, Inc. The name has been shortened throughout <br />this application to Elam Construction or Elam. <br />Gehrman Pit October 09 i-1
