I Seeding will normally be done during the fall when temperatures are cooler. Straw mulch will
be used, (certified "weed free") and applied at a rate of 2,000 pounds per acre and either crimped
or "tackified" at 150 pounds per acre. The mulch will only be used in the dryland areas. No
mulch will be used in the wetland areas.
During site preparation Elam will replant any iuvenile cottonwoods that are removed from the
mining area in the undisturbed areas. Mature cottonwoods will not be replanted due to their age.
No livestock grazing will take place on-site during the life of the permit.
6. Post-Reclamation Site Drainage
The entire mining area will drain to the lake after reclamation, as shown on Map F-1.
7. Weed Control
1 Measures will be employed for control of any noxious weed species. A Weed Control Plan will
be utilized as follows:
1) Each April, a weed survey will be made of the permit area.
Gehrman Pit October 09 E-4
