This plan ensures that there is more t
enough overburden and topsoil available to eomplete reelantation.
Table D-4 shows a balance of the topsoil and overburden stripped versus the amount of topsoil
and overburden used in the reclamation of the pit The column titled Material Needed to
Reclaim is the minimum amount of material which is required for the reclamation of that
Excess overburden will be placed in the pit bottom Most of the overburden material will be used
to reclaim the 1 H• IV to 3H• IV, and achieve the more natural appearance as shown on Mau F-1.
This plan ensures that there is more than enough overburden and topsoil available to complete
reclamation Topsoil will be used to reclaim the pit slope concurrently with mining. This will
minimize the amount of topsoil stored in the storage area at any time.
Topsoil Stockpile
Topsoil will not have to be stockpiled to a great extent during the life of the mine. The topsoil
that is removed in a phase of mining can be used to reclaim the previously excavated phase,
removing the need for large amounts of topsoil stockpile during Lmining. Topsoil set aside at the
start of Phase 1 will be stored in the topsoil storage area along the Ana Branch. The topsoil berm
slopes will be 2H:1 V or less
viu of ° v,
214: 1 V less. er- The b 3,850' leng and Q' high, 4t a .eltiuie ?.. vi 18,252 GY. The berm will
be vegetated to prevent erosion while it is in place.
5. Explosives and Blasting
No explosives will be used on site No blasting, will take place as part of mining.
Overburden Stockpile
The overburden from Phase 1 will be stockpiled along the west edge of the pit, so that it may be
pushed down onto the slopes for reclamation when the time comes. Once enough of Phase 1 has
been mined out to start the Reclamation Plan, this material will be placed as backfill in Phase 1.
6 Water Information, Rights and Augmentation
Gehrman Pit October 09 D-6
