fence. Sediment and storm-water controls (silt fencing, bales, ditches and berms and
other BMP's as per the SWMP for the site) will prevent any adverse impact from storm-
waters. Any topsoil stockpiles remaining for longer than one year will be seeded with the
recommended seed mix. The U.S.Army Corps of Engineers has been notified for
comments due to the proximity of the Yampa River to the south. A copy of the notice
letter to the USACE, Grand Junction Office is located in Exhibit F.
(d) Wildlife information:
A Notification Letter was sent to N.W. Regional Manager for The Colorado
Division of Wildlife, Grand Junction, Colorado Office requesting comments. A
copy of the letter is attached to Exhibit F. At this time the D.O.W. has not
provided any response or comments to the applicant. The current site use for
general agriculture (as a "hay field") restricts various species of wildlife.
Since the proposed permit area is located on private property, hunting activities
and public access would be restricted. The small pond and variegated grass seed
mix proposed for reclamation at the site (and being within the adjacent Yampa
River corridor) will provide additional habitat for waterfowl, other avian and
small mammal species.
