The <br />Morton Pit is a new mining site. In 2010 both the Holton Pit and the Morton Lakes Pit will remain <br />inactive reserve sites. 1n July 2011 stage 1 mining will be initiated at the Morton Pit. The Holton Pit will <br />once again remain inactive in 2011. Ready Mixed would like to maintain an approved SWSP for both <br />sites in 2010 and 2011 as a requirement of their Use by Special Review Permits. <br />Depletions from evaporation and mining operation at the Morton Lakes Pit will impact the Big <br />Dry Creek a tributary of the South Platte River. The depletions have been lagged to the Big Dry Creek <br />using the Glover method and the aquifer parameters shown below: <br />• Location of the site is approximately 600 feet from the Big Dry Creek <br />• The transmissivity is 150,000 gal/day/ft <br />The specific yield is 0.2 <br />The distance of the impermeable boundary is 7,500 feet from the live stream <br />Replacement <br />The proposed source of replacement water for this combined plan during the irrigation season <br />(April through October) is historical consumptive use credit from 1/8th of a share of the Brighton Ditch <br />owned by Holton Family, LLC. All of this ditch interest will be dedicated to this plan. The remainder <br />of the replacement water for this combined plan during both the irrigation and non-irrigation season is <br />a lease of fully consumable water from the City of Fort Lupton of 5.07 acre-feet in 2011. The leased <br />water will be delivered at the Fort Lupton wastewater treatment plant located downstream of the <br />Holton-Morton Pits. No transit loss has been applied to the replacement water due to the location of <br />the replacement delivery. A copy of the lease Agreement with the City of Fort Lupton shall be <br />submitted to this office by July 31, 2011. <br />The 1/8 share of the Brighton Ditch was historically used to irrigate up to 77.2 acres consisting <br />of 50% corn and 50% sugar beets for the period of 1950 through 1968 and 80% alfalfa and 20% <br />pasture grass for the period of 1969 through 2006.
