The compacted soil dikes are to be constructed in a fashion to <br />contain at least 110 percent of the volume of the largest fuel storage vessel within the <br />containment area. A policy for the handling and disposal of hazardous waste will be <br />established for the operation. A key element of the policy will include annual training for all <br />workers at the facility for spill containment and controls in the event that a spill should occur. <br />Another component of the policy includes notification of appropriate regulatory agencies when <br />a release of more than 25 gallons of a petroleum product occurs. A reportable spill of any toxic <br />or hazardous substance (including spill of petroleum products) within the permit area are <br />reportable to any Division of the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment, <br />the national Response Center, the Colorado Emergency Planning Commission, a local <br />Emergency Planning Commission, a local Emergency Planning Committee, or the Sate Oil <br />Inspector. The operator shall notify the Office of a reportable spill within the permit area using <br />the same timeframe required by the permit, license, notice, Act, Rule or Regulation governing <br />the reporting of the spill to the appropriate agency. Notice of a reportable spill shall be Faxed <br />to: Minerals Program Supervisor, Division of Minerals and Geology, FAX (303) 832 -8106. The <br />FAX shall include a call -back number of a responsible company official for DMG staff to use as <br />a contact. <br />
