3. Mine Facilities and Operation
The site will contain the following facilities; it is noted where applicable whether or not the facility
is portable and whether it will have any fuel storage associated with it. Table D -3 below shows a
summary of the tanks which will be present on site as well as a summary of the secondary
containment used with each tank.
— A screening plant with a 80 gallon diesel tank
Although the only facility which will be on site from the beginning of the operation is a screening
plant, it is possible that other facilities may be present on site in the future. All of the processing
equipment will be placed on the pit floor, and moved as necessary within the pit. In the event that
Korinek wishes to bring other facilities on site for the operations, the Division of Reclamation,
Mining, and Safety and Crowley County will be contacted with a Technical Revision to allow for
these facilities to be on site. All other necessary permits through state organizations will also be
obtained on a case by case basis.
The following list is the best estimate of the mobile equipment which will be used on site
throughout the mine life:
— 1 Front end loader
— 1 D -8 Bulldozer
— 1 Pick -up truck with a mounted diesel tank
— 1 15 ton on -road haul truck
Note that the equipment described above is only the equipment which will be used at the beginning
of the operation as that is all that is available to the operator at this time. If onsite production
grows substantially, more equipment will be required to meet market demand.
Korinek #1 Pit August 09 D -5
