Foidel Creek Mine, C1982-056, TR71
December 29, 2009
a) PR8 approved "approximately 5,120 acres" of affected area. Please bring this value into
agreement.
b) Please revise the description of the "Western Mining District" heading to include Panels 12-Left
through 17-Left, and 19-Left through 20-Left.
4. Please bring the discussion of the mine plan found on revised page 2.05-13 into agreement with the
mining that occurred. TCC did not mine NMD Panel 25-Right, but mined through Panel 24-Right
in the NMD. Maps provided by TCC show that 8MN extended approximately 1200 feet north, not
3000 feet as stated in the text. The Division believes that references to WMD panel 18-Left should
be corrected to "panel 19-Left". This revision proposes panel 19-Left to be approximately 800 feet
in width, not 1000 feet as stated on page 2.05-13. Please correct these references. Somewhere in
this mine plan discussion, it would be logical to note that the 18-Right Ventilation shaft was sealed
in November 2009.
Please provide responses to the Division's concerns by January 22, 2010 in order to allow the Division
adequate time to review TCC's responses and meet the permitting time frames. Please call me should
you wish to discuss any of the Division's concerns.
Sincerely,
Janet H. Binns
Environmental Protection Specialist II
(303) 866-3567 ext. 8107
