§2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING
ACTIVITIES -MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION
PLANS.
Windblown material has been held in check and it has been
demonstrated that these rapid reclamation practices will be very
successful in eliminating fugitive dust from the area.
All mining vehicles have standard factory air and noise pollution control
devices which are serviced regularly.
General housekeeping of all areas at the mine and silo area assist in
maintaining air quality. Continued maintenance of belt cleaners, etc.,
reduce the possibility of coal spillage. As necessary, the operator
cleans areas under conveyor belts at transfer areas to minimize fugitive
dust.
The operator does utilize open stockpiles in approved, permitted areas.
This is done when all other storage areas have been tilled to capacity.
When utilizing these stockpile areas, special air quality control
measures are implemented. These include: compaction, watering,
surface stabilization, and wind barriers.
The operator has an approved permit for coal screening in and around
the silo area. Special air quality control measures include: watering,
production limitations, and fines stockpile size limitations.
TR-020 2.05 - 34 3/01
