The time frame for the revegetation could vary from
as little as five years to more than fifty years.
Topsoil stockpiles, cut slopes and other disturbed surfaces
associated with the mine construction will be revegetated
during the first available planting season typically September
1st to November 15'h.
(ii) The revegetation objective for the disturbed area is to achieve
a good stand of grass to satisfy the postmining land use of
cropland.
The following premium irrigated pasture mix will be utilized:
30% Regar Meadow Brome
25% Potomac Orchardgrass
25% Brome Grass
20% Tetraplloid Perennial Rygrass
Seeding Rate - 30 to 35 pounds per acre.
(iii) Planting and Seeding
Planting will be accomplished with the use of a rangeland drill
pulled behind arubber-tired tractor or other suitable equipment.
Broadcast seeding will be used for areas where drill seeding is
not practicable.
TR-020 2.05 - 25 3/01
