Reve etation Success Criteria <br />The criterion revegetation for evaluation of success for the approved post - mining land use is <br />g <br />vegetation cover. This vegetation cover must be sufficient to control erosion. Based on <br />sampling at other mines sites in the area and the pre - mining vegetation studies, a revegetation <br />cover standard was established. <br />The following will be the revegetation success criteria for the Carbon Junction Mine: <br />Vegetation Cover <br />Vegetation cover of the reclaimed area will be successful when vegetation cover is 40 percent <br />with 90 percent statistical confidence. <br />Herbaceous Production <br />There is no herbaceous production revegetation success standard. <br />Woody Plant Densitv <br />There is no woody plant density revegetation success standard. <br />S12ecies Composition <br />There is no species composition revegetation success standard. <br />Solid Waste Disposal <br />All solid waste (non -coal wastes), e.g., lumber, unusable machinery, and waste building <br />materials, was or will be removed from the mine site and disposed of in an approved land fill or <br />recycling facility. <br />Mine Openings <br />There will be no mine openings that require sealing. All exploration holes will be plugged in <br />accordance with 4.07. All water or monitoring wells will be plugged in accordance with 4.07 or <br />transferred to the post- mining surface owner who will be responsible for their maintenance and <br />permitting as necessary. <br />Dry drill holes will have all cuttings backfilled. An expandable plug will be forced into the hole <br />to a depth of ten feet. A standard sack of cement will be mixed with water and poured into the <br />hole.
