• 1) Loaded and hauled needed fill from the Permanently Reclaimed Spoils Area. This task was <br />accomplished with tracked excavator and articulated dump truck team. <br />2) Regraded and finish graded the area with a bulldozer. <br />3) Loaded and hauled topsoil from Topsoil Stockpile #2, covering the area with eight to twelve <br />inches of topsoil. <br />4) Regraded and spread the topsoil. <br />5) Seeded and mulched the South Pit Drill Pad area as described in the revegetation plan. <br />Equipment Area <br />The Equipment Area provided a storage area for parts and equipment. Approximately 1.6 acres <br />were disturbed. <br />Reclamation of the Equipment Area involved the following tasks undertaken between May and <br />August 2006: <br />1) Removed equipment from the area. Disposed of trash and debris at approved landfill. <br />2) Collected coal materials and buried them under a minimum of four feet of non - combustible, <br />non -toxic cover. <br />3) Regraded fill from the adjacent Ewing Mesa #1 stockpile. This task was accomplished with <br />tracked excavator and articulated dump truck team. <br />4) Regraded and finish graded the area with a motorgrader. <br />5) Loaded and hauled topsoil from Topsoil Stockpile #7, covering the area with eight to twelve <br />inches of topsoil. <br />4) Regraded and spread the topsoil. <br />5) Seeded and mulched the Equipment Area and disturbed area of Topsoil Stockpile #7 as <br />described in the revegetation plan. <br />Reconstruction of Carbon Junction Canyon <br />The restoration of the Carbon Junction drainage was part of the final reclamation plan and has <br />been completed at this time. The work involved a diversion of 1962 feet that was riprap lined <br />with one culvert crossing under the main access road. The channel itself is 14' wide after lining <br />and varies in depth from 1.9 feet to 2.8 feet for segment 6, including freeboard. <br />Abridged Permit Document 5 -23 Feb 2008 <br />
