The required fee of $3598 (14 sites x $257 /site renewal fee) has been submitted.
Aggregate previously operated Stegner Pit (M -99 -021) under the combined SWSP. The
State Engineer approved the clay liner for the Stegner Pit, which eliminated the need to replace
new depletions from the evaporation of exposed ground water. Because there are no longer lagged
depletions that affect the stream from the previously mined site at Stegner Pit, you did not include
this site in the SWSP.
Aggregate anticipates to actively mine four sites in 2010: W. W. Farms Pit, Distel Pit,
Hazeltine Pit, and Brighton Pit. Depletions resulting from evaporation and mining operations at
these sites are replaced under this plan. Water use at the W.W. Farms during the period of this
plan will include dewatering, evaporation from exposed groundwater, aggregate production, dust
control and concrete batching. The dewatering rate is anticipated to remain at 450 gallons per
minute in 2010. The exposed surface area at the W.W. Farms Pit has been updated based on
recent aerial photo. As mentioned in the previous SWSP approval Aggregate applied to DRMS to
amend the existing area boundary of the W.W. Farms to include the W.W. Farms Expansion area.
Water use at the Distel Pit, Hazeltine Pit and Brighton Pit in 2010 will include dewatering,
evaporation from exposed groundwater, aggregate production, and dust control. The average
dewatering rate is anticipated to remain at 1,100 gallons per minute (Distel Pit) and at 900 gallons
per minute (Hazeltine Pit) in 2010. The dewatering at the Hazeltine Pit will result in a net accretion
to the river and the dewatering at the Brighton Pit is assumed to offset the post - pumping depletions
from dewatering at the Platte Valley Pit. The exposed surface area at the Distel Pit has been
updated based on recent cross - section drawing performed for the Distel Pit well permit submitted
on August 20, 2009. The exposed surface area at the Hazeltine Pit and Brighton Pit will remain at
2.3 acres and 30.7 acres respectively.
Aggregate also has eight sites with exposed surface area that will not be mined in 2010:
Teti Pit, Wattenberg Pit, Platte Valley Pit, North Dahlia Pit, F- Street Pit, Jeronimus Pit, East 8`'
