Received
October 7, 2009 In ti 2 B 2009
Durango Field Office
To Whom I[ May Concern: pry"n of Reclamation, Uk""safety -
I am writing to inform you of the delinquency of Wildcat Mining Corporation. From
October I" through October 3` Wildcat had heavy machinery working on their property
from approximately 9am to 7pm everyday. This was taking place for three days straight
during the day and into the night. On Thursday, October I" there was a flat bed trailer
with a semi -truck near the entrance of their property. I called Wally Erickson on Friday,
October 2 nd to complain and he suggested I write a formal letter to the necessary parties
involved with this project.
While sitting on my deck on Saturday, October 3` I realized that the noise had to be
something more than just small machinery. When walking up the road from my property
I noticed the use of a backhoe (you can see this piece of machinery in an attached photo).
Through my binoculars I observed that they (people on Wildcat Mining Corporation's
property) were moving a large blue piece of equipment. Although the backhoe was in
use, there was an additional noise coming from the property. It became clear to me that
there was more than just a backhoe involved. At about 7:30pm on Saturday, October 3`
the trailer came down the street (toward my property) to turn around and leave. At this
point I went outside to take a picture. The flat bed trailer was the same trailer that was
sitting near the entrance of their property. On the trailer was a large piece of machinery
that was being used on their property (see attached photos). The equipment had Bonds
Construction's company name on it. In addition, the semi -truck was being led by a red
truck with Baird's Escort & Pilot Car Services written on the side.
Although this incident was particularly disruptive, this is not the first time that Wildcat
has worked on their property during odd hour and weekends. Sadly, this has simply
become a common occurrence for this company. As a resident, I am irritated by Wildcat
Mining Corporation's lack of knowledge, careless behavior and perpetual disregard of
county, state and federal laws. When will an organization step in and say, "enough is
enough "?
Sincerely,
Amy Aw`h J
4631 CR 124
Hesperus, CO 81326
