Reclamation Plan
Section 4.4.2.4 of the approved reclamation plan specifies reclamation activities that are to be
performed by the mine operator. Items remaining to be reclaimed after approval of SL-5 are
listed in Table 4, below. None of the items in Table 4 have been included in previous bond
releases, although the two piezometers, D-1A and D-2A were located on land that received Phase
III bond release in SL-5. Page 14 of the SL-5 Findings document explains that the piezometers
were approved for future reclamation. Reclamation of the items in Table 4 is to be completed in
order to support the approved post-mining land uses of wildlife habitat, rangeland, and developed
water resources.
Table 4 - Remaining reclamation liability after approval of most recent previous bond release,
SL-5.
Item
Piezometers D-1A and D-2A at
toe of former refuse disposal
area,
Upper flume in North Thompson
Creek
Lower flume in North Thompson
Creek (includes approximately
1,800 square-foot light-use
road)
Upper flume in Middle
Thompson Creek
Lower flume in Middle
Thompson Creek
Mine W. signs and affected area
markers
Area affected by No. 1 Mine
underground workings
Area affected by No. 3 Mine
underground workings
Location Disturbed acres
NW Sec. 35-8S-89W nil
Upper: NE1/4 Sec. 34-8S-89W 0.05
Lower: NW 1 /4 Sec. 35-8S- 0.05
89W
Upper: SESE Sec. 3-9S-89W 0.05
Lower: S1/2 Sec. 2-9S-89W 0.05
Entrance gate, Pitkin Co.
