2.05.3(2 )
• It may be necessary because of coal quality
considerations, to mine from Area 1 and Area 2 concurrently. The
stockpile volume for topsoil is designed to anticipate this worst
case scenario. If Area 2 is mined in sequence after Area 1, the
topsoil stockpile for Area 2 will not have to be as large because
some of the topsoil stripped from Area 2 will be placed on
reclaimed portions of Area 1. The volume of the temporary spoil
pile for Area 2 will remain the same for either case.
The initial phase of the operation is expected to take
approximately one month. The Mine Plan Map, Drawing No. 115, shows
the progression of production, open pit mining in one year
intervals. The projected schedule assumes a production rate of
350,000 tons per year and that Area 2 is mined sequentially after
Area 1. The schedule will change if production varies from that
estimated.
The Mine Plan Map also shows the progression of recla-
mation in one year increments. For the purposes of this schedule,
reclamation is defined as areas where topsoil has been placed on
regraded overburden.
The following schedule shows acreage to be disturbed
initially and at the end of each one year period thereafter, the
• reclaimed acreage and the remaining disturbed acreage at the end of
each year.
Remaining
Acreage Reclaimed Disturbed
Disturbed Acreage Acreage
Initial Disturbance 52 0 52
Month
1-12 21 39 34
13-23 71 64 41
24-36 65 58 48
37-48 39 75 12
Ponds & Access Roads 0 12 0
Totals 248 248
2 .05-4 May 1992
