Box 670 <br />Hayden, CO 81639 <br />Contact: Roy Karo <br />(970) 276-5217 <br />The Division nominates Seneca Coal Company (SCC) for their participation in a series of studies <br />addressing aspen reestablishment on reclaimed coal mined lands. The studies were initiated in <br />2004, and continued through 2009, on sites at SCC's Seneca II-W and Yoast Mines, in Routt <br />County. <br />Seneca Coal Company provided study sites, equipment, and materials for the studies, which were <br />designed and conducted by researchers from the U.S. Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research <br />Station (RMRS), with assistance from the Colorado State University Department of Forest, <br />Rangeland, and Watershed Stewardship (CSU). The studies were funded in large part by the <br />Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM), through the National <br />Office of <br />Office of <br />Mined Land Reclamation Denver Grand Junction Durango Active and Inactive Mines
