• <br />Township 6 North, Range 90 West 6"' P.M. <br />Section 31, lots 5 thru 20, inclusive; <br />Section 32, lots 1 thru 16, inclusive. <br />In addition, this mining plan modification will authorize the recovery of approximately an <br />additional 17.4 million tons of Federal coal lying within the mining plan approval area <br />during the life of the Trapper mine that was previously included in the approved permit <br />area. <br />The life of the mining operations is not expected to change under Colorado Permit <br />C-1981-010 and this proposed mining plan modification due to future changes in <br />production rates and contract obligations. <br />The average annual production rate and the maximum production rate would not change. <br />The approved State permit area would not increase from its present 10,382.3 acres and <br />surface disturbance within the approved State permit area would increase by 312 acres <br />from its present 3,670.01 acres to a new total of 3,982.01 acres. <br />• <br />This mining plan modification will not add any more acres of Federal surface lands or <br />Federal coal to the approved permit area shown on the map included with this decision <br />document. <br />The post mining land use within the permit and mining plan area would not change. <br />The CO-DRMS has not placed any Special Conditions on this permitting action. <br />Trapper Mining, Inc.'s proposal does not require any additional special conditions to <br />comply with Federal laws. <br />IV. Review Process <br />The CO-DRMS reviewed the PAP under the Colorado State program, the Federal lands <br />program (30 CFR Chapter VII, Subchapter D), and the Colorado cooperative agreement <br />(30 CFR § 906.30). Pursuant to the Colorado State program and the cooperative <br />agreement, CO-DRMS proposed approval of the permit revision on September 22, 2009, <br />the proposed approval became final on October 23, 2009. <br />• <br />OSM has consulted with other Federal agencies for compliance with the requirements of <br />applicable Federal laws. Their comments and/or concurrences are included in this <br />decision document.
