Revegetation
Generally, revegetation efforts have been successful, especially in reducing the amount of
storm runoff and sediment delivered to ditches and ponds. Experience has shown that at this
site, revegetated areas show minimal progress until the third growing season when many
species begin to become established. In the meantime, structural and mechanical methods
to prevent rill and gully erosion are normally necessary, especially on steep slope areas.
One area of excellent success has been the north - facing slopes of Fill 8 (shown below). Rill
and gully formation is almost non - existent, likely due to revegetation efforts and success.
