A` domestic grazing. Therefore, only grasses and forbs will be reestablished. How-
ever, range sites A and B (Mountain shrub type) will be returned to both wildlife
:y habitat and domestic grazing. These range sites will have clumps of mature
shrubs reestablished. Mature shrub transplants will be obtained from within the
permit area unless purchased. Between the clumps of mature shrubs will be open
grazing areas, seeded to grasses, forbs and shrubs. Alternatively, shrub
reestablishment areas in conjunction with mature shrub clumps may be established.
These areas will consist of mature shrub clumps and an adjacent area of approxi-
mately 9.9 acres of primarily seeded and/or transplanted shrubs, forbs, and
sufficient grass species to provide erosion control. Where such areas are con-
structed, seeded shrubs may or may not be included in the seed mix seeded between
'3 shrub reestablishment areas and mature shrub clumps (Figure 3.6-4a). Regardless
J of the method utilized, four-hundred actual shrub stems per acre (includes both
shrub clumps and seeded shrubs) is proposed as a reclamation standard. Section
4.4.1.2 discusses the shrub density standard Trapper Mine has chosen to promote
y
optimum land use for all types of ungulates.

3-117a
REVISED JUL 231
