Box 950 <br />Granby, Colorado 80446 <br />Dear Mr. Pratt: <br />We are responding to your request for a Department of the Arm <br />Gravel Pit Access Road project. This project involves discharges of dredged ??? ?t orr lle Fattenl into <br />'a' 'the United States. The O <br />Latitude 40.098°, Longitude -105 93660,, Grand County, Colorado. Township 2 N' Range 76 W, <br />The project under this permit, as described in the permit application dated October 22, 2009, <br />consists of widening an existing road across an unnamed tributary to Smith Creek. The existing <br />road was constructed with a stock pond in 2001. The roadway will be widened at both sides <br />along the path to the proposed gravel pit and about 0.07 acre of wetlands will be filled as a result. <br />This wetland fill came about after efforts were made to minim„p or avoid wetland impacts. The <br />impacted wetlands are PEM sedges with limited habitat value near an airport runway. It is noted <br />that there will not be any adverse effects to endangered species, nor to any cultural or historic <br />resources as stated in the permit application. It is further noted that the proposed stormwater <br />collection area will be located uphill of any waters of the U.S. <br />Based on the information you provided, the proposed activity in approximately 0.07 acres of <br />waters of the U.S. is authorized by Nationwide Permit Number 14. A signed copy of the <br />Preliminary Jurisdictional Determination is enclosed. Your work must comply with the general <br />terms and conditions listed on the enclosed Nationwide permit information sheets and the following <br />special conditions: <br />Special Conditions: <br />1. You shalt provide a visual barrier between wetlands that are allowed to be filled under this <br />permit and wetland areas immediately newt to it to avoid inadvertent disturbance of areas not <br />covered by this permit, Such visual barrier should include properly erected and maintained <br />silt fencing and/or highly visible construction fencing. There must not be a <br />adjacent wetlands either via parking, or stockpiling aterials. disturbance
