Approximately 100' west of the PERMIT [BOUNDARY, a wetland complex does exist.
The wetland originates from a seep point 125' east of the PROPERTY LINE (fence line)
confined to an 82' width within the bottom ofthe ravine. The wetland area is a completely
vegetated with hydrophytic plant species and does not have a defined channel. Dominant
vegetation within the wetland area includes, sedges (Oirex spp.), reed canary Morass
(Phalaris attrundicia), rush (Juncus arlicus) and scattered willows (S'alir I)lanilbliu). Soil
was saturated to the surface. No histic epipedons or "fen-like" soils were identified. Dive
soil samples were examined in the wetland area of the ravine bottom approximately every
25' from the Property Line towards the east. Soils all consisted of a gray (I OYR 5/1 ).
sandy loam textured mineral soil with abundant small mottles from 3" to 24" inches below
the soil surface. An organic surface layer is present from 0" to 3". This wetland area
clearly meets the all three criteria of wetland as defined by the Corps. The wetland does
continue west, down slope (offsite) into a larger wetland complex west of the PROPERTY
LINE.
