Dudash, Joe
From:
Jim Stover Destover @bresnan.net]
Sent:
Monday, October 19, 2009 3:01 PM
To:
Dudash, Joe
Subject:
RE: Bowie No. 2 Mine Plan Change Questions
Please see response below
From: Dudash, Joe [mailto:Joe.Dudash @state.co.us]
Sent: Friday, October 16, 2009 7:45 AM
To: jestover @bresnan.net
Subject: Bowie No. 2 Mine Plan Change Questions
I e- mailed Sandy yesterday about the proposed change in the mine plan. She is also concerned about the landslide in
Hubbard Canyon. She and I will talk later this morning. I have two questions for now:
1. Does Bowie intend to pull the pillars in this new area? Yes
2. 1 read your response to the Division's question concerning the Hubbard Creek landslide. Are you saying that the
initial roof fall in the B -6 panel caused the preexisting unstable burnt coal area to give way, which resulted in the
landslide or are you saying that the initial B -6 roof fall caused the landslide directly, independent of the
preexisting unstable burnt coal area? The initial roof fall in B -6 caused the unstable area to slide, so it
reactivated a previously unstable area.
