6.4.1 EXHIBIT A - Legal Description
1.) In the first paragraph of Exhibit A, it states the permit area is 33.363 acres. According
to the application, the permit area will be 45.2 acres. Please explain this discrepancy
and specifically state the permit acreage.
2.) The legal description included with the exhibit states the site will be located in
section 19 and 20. However, the index map depicts the site in Section 20 and 21 of
Township 22 South, Range 57 West of the 6th Principle Meridian. Please specifically
state the correct legal description for the operation and ensure the index map is correct.
3.) Please give the location of the main entrance of the mine site in either latitude and
longitude or U T M coordinates. if the operator chooses latitude and longitude, the
coordinates must be reported in degrees, minutes and second or in decimal degrees to
an accuracy of at least five decimal degrees. For UTM coordinates, the operator will
need to specify the North American Datum (NAD 27, NAD 83 or WGS 84) and the
applicable zone measured in meters.
6.4.3 EXHIBIT C - Pre-mining and Mining Plan Map(s) of Affected Lands
4.) On both the C-1 Map and the C-2 map there are many different types of lines
depicting boundaries, structures road and contours. The permit boundary is not clearly
displayed on these maps. For both maps, please show the permit boundary.
5.) In Exhibit A, it states that 24.9 acres of land will be affected by the mining operation.
Please delineate this boundary on these maps. This value seems low, based on the
Exhibit C-2 and Exhibit F Maps; it appears the majority of the permit area will be
affected by the mining and reclamation operation. Please explain.
6.) There appears to be many different structures within 200 feet of the affected land,
such as roads, power lines, buildings and fences. For each of the structures, please
label the structure indicating what the structure is and the name of the person who
owns the structure.
7.) Please place a north arrow on the maps.
8.) Please show the location where the topsoil and overburden will be stockpiled. These
materials will need to be stockpiles separately.
9.) Please show where the processing area will be located throughout the life of the
operation. Also, Exhibit A indicates "Plant Facilities" will be included in the affected land,
please display where these facilities will be located during the life of the operation.
2
