12. In accordance with Rule 6.4.4(f)(i), describe the nature, depth and thickness of the deposit to <br />be mined and the thickness and type of overburden to be removed. <br />13. In accordance with Rule 6.4.4(g), identify the primary and secondary commodities to be <br />mined/extracted and describe the intended use. <br />14. Rule 3.1.9(1) states if topsoil is not replaced on a backfill area within a time short enough to <br />avoid deterioration of the topsoil, vegetative cover or other means shall be employed so that <br />the topsoil is protected from erosion. Please specify how long the topsoil will be stockpiled <br />before it is replaced. If it is longer than one growing season, then specify the seed mix that <br />will be used to stabilize the topsoil stockpile. The seed mix shall be reported as pounds of <br />pure live seed per acre. <br />6.4.5 Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan <br />15. The applicant states that reclamation will begin in 2009. Please clarify if reclamation of the <br />existing pit will commence in 2009. In addition, provide a plan or schedule indicating how <br />and when reclamation will be implemented. The plan shall include: 1) an estimate of the <br />periods of time which will be required for the various phases of reclamation, 2) a description <br />of the size and location of each area to be reclaimed during each phase and 3) an outline of <br />the sequence in which each phase of reclamation will be carried out. <br />16. As required by Rule 1.11.2(3)(b), describe any areas that have been reclaimed since the <br />original permit application was issued. The reclaimed areas shall be located on the <br />Reclamation Plan Map. <br />17. Please provide a comparison of the proposed post-mining land use to other land uses in the <br />vicinity and to adopted state and local land use plans and programs as required by Rule <br />6.4.5(2)(b). <br />6.4.6 Exhibit F - Reclamation Plan Map <br />18. Please see comments under No. 3, Exhibit C. <br />19. Please see comments under No. 15, Exhibit E. <br />20. The Reclamation Plan Map was not signed by a registered land surveyor, professional <br />engineer, or other qualified person. Please submit a signed copy of the Reclamation Plan <br />Map as required by Rule 6.2.1(2)(b). <br />6.4.7 Exhibit G - Water Information <br />21. The applicant stated that an existing well on the property will be used as a source of water for <br />the project. Please locate the well on the Mining Plan Map as required by Rule 6.4.7(2)(a). <br />22. Please see the attached comments from the Division of Water Resources.
