• 2.05.3(6)
Rule 4.14.1(2)(f) allows spoil to be placed on the area
outside the mined-out area in non-steep slope areas to restore the
approximate original contour by blending the spoil into the
surrounding terrain, if:
(i) All vegetative and organic material is first removed
from the areas;
(ii) Topsoil is removed from the area and segregated,
stored and redistributed in accordance with rule 4.06; and
(iii) The spoil is backfilled and graded in accordance
with rule 4.14.2.
Vegetative and organic material and the topsoil will be
removed from the foot print of the spoil pile prior to spoil being
placed in the area.
The spoil pile is to be located where shown on the Mine Plan
Map - Mining Area 3, Map 126. No terrace slopes are planed. The
outslope of the spoil pile is 2h:ly (50 8).
The location of the spoil pile will provide additional "level"
ground adjacent to the mined area because the spoil is to be placed
• in a moderately sloping draw. The top of the spoil pile will fill
in the top of the draw to provide the additional level area
adjacent the mined area. The top of the spoil pile will be blended
into the spoil backfilled into adjacent pits. This additional
level ground will complement the postmining land use which is
rangeland and wildlife habitat.
Small depressions will not be constructed on the outslope of
the spoil pile.
•
2.05-12ii July 1992
