Barton and Gilleland,
This office performed an inspection of the existing permitted area and the proposed additional areas pertaining to this
amendment, a report for which inspection will be mailed under separate cover. We appreciate Mr. Neil's assistance
during the inspection. There were a few observations from that inspection that are pertinent to the amendment
application, and are included in the adequacy comments below.
The Division has reviewed the above-named amendment application materials for technical adequacy. There were
numerous items identified as inadequate for approval. Adequate responses to the items below must be submitted or
corrected in order for the application to be found adequate for approval by the Division. These items are noted in order
of their appearance in the application form or exhibits. Please address all items noted below. All exhibits not
referenced in this letter are deemed adequate at this time.
Exhibit C, Pre-mining and Mining Plan Maps Rule 6 4 3
Onsite observations indicate that several structures, including the new office building and scale, are not shown on the
maps. Please provide revised maps that depict these items, as well as the other required details such as: correct permit
number; labeled permit boundary line, and/or labeled affected area boundary line (as needed); preparer's signature,
with stamp and date, as appropriate; and scale. It would be appropriate to also include stormwater controls on a map in
this exhibit.
Exhibit F, Reclamation Maps Rule 6 4 6
It is presumed that at least one access road will remain to provide permanent access to this site. As such, please
provide a map showing where any necessary permanent drainage control structures will be located. As before, please
ensure that the following items are on the maps: correct permit number; labeled permit boundary line, and/or labeled
affected area boundary line (as needed); preparer's signature, with stamp and date, as appropriate; and scale.
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
