The applicant has submitted a letter dated December 20, 2007, which states the applicant will
incorporate the comments from the Division's review of the structural engineering analysis
into the geotechnical stability exhibit. Please incorporate the Division's comments into the
Mining Plan. A copy of the Division's review of the structural engineering analysis has been
enclosed.
25. In the Division's review of the structural engineering analysis submitted under the active
Special 111 Reclamation Permit, the applicant was instructed to conduct a pre-blast survey of
the fences, farm road, pond and irrigation pump, and sprinkler. The pre-blast survey was to
be completed prior to initiation of blasting in the pit. The Division could not find any record
of a pre-blast survey in the permit file. The Division will make it a permit requirement to
conduct a pre-blast survey of the above structures. Blasting will not be allowed under the 110
Reclamation Permit until the applicant has provided the Division with the pre-blast survey.
