Six (6) inches or more of topsoil will be pulled from the stockpile at the
pit site and bermed up on the south boundary of the mined area. As with
any berm constructed on site, the berm will be constructed with a slope of
no more than 3:1 and vegetated within one year of construction, with the
same grass mixture thatis used in reclamation to prevent erosion.
6 Reclamation will proceed as mining moves toward the East with the
topsoil stored on-site to be moved back over exhausted area, the ground
sloped 3:1 or flatter where necessary and planted back with native grasses.
The mixture of grass planted will be 20% Sideoats, 30% Western Wheat,
20% Blue Grama, and 30% Buffalo Grass. We will plant 7 to 10 lbs/acre
on land being reclaimed. The pit floor will also be re-vegetated.
F A 4 wire, barbed-wire fence will built around each 5 acre (more or less)
plot that is being reclaimed to keep livestock away from new growth, that
fence will remain until clearance is given by the Division of Reclamation
to remove the fence.
G The primary commodity will be caliche for use in road surfacing and the
secondary commodity will be gravel(if found on site), and clay for use
as roadbed materials.
H There will be no refuse, acid, or toxic producing materials exposed during
mining. Explosives will not be used in conjunction with the mining and/or
reclamation of this pit.
