Cottony
Division Dirett?r
Natural Resource Trustee
As requested, I have reviewed western Fuel-Colorado's ?wFC' } TR-??. with this revision wFC
is proposing to reinstate several groundwater n?orutoring welly back into the approved groundwater
monitoring plan and also requests to lower the ?axnpling frequency to annual at five surface water
sampling sites. I have the following adequacy review comment, which could be forwarded directly
to the operator.
I . Cn revised page x.04.7-? 1 under Tuttle Draw, reference iS made to stream flov?r information
and. that it can be found in ?oXuine B ofNew ?ori?on 1 Reclamation Plan. There is no
stream flow discussion provided for Tuttle Draw in the current permit document, This is
important information in understanding the rationale for the surface water sampling plan at
Yoffie Draw. Rather than referenced, the pertinent informatioi regarding flows in Tuttle
Draw should be sunarriari?ed and incorporated in to the current permit volume an page
x.04.7-31,
?, ?n the bottom ofpage ?.04.7?3?, wFC states "the temporary pipeline will be ren?aved in
the year ?00G when the mining progress eliminates the need for irrigation water in
advance ofthe mine." This appears to be outdated and should be updated accordingly.
3. 7n the last paragraph. of page x.04,7-45 ail discharging NPDE ?utfalls ?-l02} are
listed for sampling on a quarterly basis according to the parameters listed in Table 2.04.7-
?. Please update this information to include all discharging outfalls, for example Pand 1 I
i? continuously discharging now but is not listed here.
4, AFC requests to lower the sampling frequency to annual at all five surface water sample
sites located on Calamity Draw ?? sites}, Tuttle Draw ?Z sites }, and west Lateral Ditch ?l
site}.
