13. "There is a line around the ARA properties indicating a slurry wall will be installed <br />around these parcels? Is this the case? If so what will be the purpose of this slurry <br />wall? " <br />Applicant's Response: <br />There will be no slurry wall installed around the ARA amendment properties. <br />EXHIBIT G <br />14. "The Water Information Map submitted with the original permit application indicates <br />that there are a number of wells not only east of the expansion area but also adjacent <br />to the Phase 18 area. There does not appear to be a monitoring well near this <br />location. When it comes time to mine this area, the ground water elevations will need <br />to be monitored at this location and compared to base-line data. Please submit a plan <br />for monitoring ground water elevations near Phase 18 during mining and how base- <br />line data will be obtained <br />Applicant's Response: <br />The Applicant has two (2) existing ground water wells identified as MW-6 and MW-7 <br />located east of Phase 18 (see Pre-Mining Map - Exhibit "C-2" Sheet 2 of 7). These <br />two wells will be added to the Applicants ongoing ground water monitoring program. <br />The Applicant has been monitoring four (4) ground water monitoring wells adjacent to <br />the west side of Brighton Road on a monthly basis for the past four (4) years. <br />The Site Plan/Pre-Mining (Exhibit "C-2") shows the location of these 4 ground water <br />monitoring wells. <br />Monthly monitoring of the additional two ground water wells, east of Phase 18, will <br />begin October 2009. It is estimated that 3 to 4 years of baseline ground water data will <br />be collected from these wells prior to the start of mining in Phase 18. <br />Finally, in the event that any owner of a nearby alluvial well indicates that mining has <br />adversely impacted their well, RMCC will first take steps to provide neighbors with a <br />reliable supply of potable water and second take steps necessary to mitigate ground <br />water impacts due to mining. <br />15. "For Item #21, you outlined a brief ground water monitoring program for the mining <br />operation. In order for the Division to analyze the operations impact on the <br />surrounding water level, you will need to submit annual reports from the ground <br />water data that is collected throughout the year.
