III. COMMENTS-COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the
inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or
evidence supporting the enforcement action.
and stabilize the slump was prepared by J. E. Stover&Associates and CAM Mining and included
spraying Versa Foam System 15 into the portal void and backfilling with twelve inches of dirt and
rock. Following completion of the repair work, the site was inspected by me and Rodney Head of
M:CM. The repair looked very good (see the attached before and after Photograph No's 1-4 of the
crack/slough area). No further corrective action should be needed. We will continue to monitor this
location to ensure that it remains stable.
Fish&Wildlife
Mountain Lion feeding sign was still present on the reclaimed portal access. The remains of what
appears to be a deer or possibly a small cow is still perched in a Juniper tree approximately midway up
the reclaimed portal access road. It appears to be the same carcass that was identified during the May,
2009 inspection, but the carcass has been moved higher into the tree since the last inspection. Deer
and Elk sign were also present along the portal access.
Reve etg ation
The vegetation along the reclaimed portal access is becoming well established between the riprap
drainages and at the portal backfill area. Accessing the mine bench was difficult due to the thick
growth of annual weeds in some sections. Portions of the reclaimed portal access are shown in
Photograph No's 5 and 6. As seen in the photos vegetation includes annual weeds, annual mustard,
rabbit brush, fourwing saltbush, and perennial grasses.
Offsite Support Facilities
The Loma Loadout was inspected. The surface of the site is stable. The SAE silt fence was repaired
this past summer and remains in good condition.
