25 days per month, this is 417 tons per day. Using 10 hours per day, this is 42 tons per hour.
With 14 ton capacity trucks, this is 2.97 trucks per hour. Maximum truck traffic is expected to be
3-4 trucks per hour. All trucks will be covered and water and/or magnesium chloride will be
applied to the site access road as needed to keep dust down. With the completion of mining at
Bunn Ranch, there will be no noticeable change in truck traffic out of the site.
As described in the Exhibit G: Part 1, the hydrological system will detain all runoff so that no
sediment will leave the site and cloud any downstream waters. The Gehrman Pit will be
reclaimed to wildlife habitat and a recreational lake. Elam will work closely with Division of
Wildlife, the County, the landowners and the DRMS to ensure that the reclamation plan is the
best possible for achieving the post-mining land use.
Portable sanitation facilities will be provided to all workers at the mine site. The waste will be
taken off site for treatment in an approved facility. There will be no leach fields or other means
of sewage disposal. There will be no new demands on Moffat County services from the
additional extraction areas.
Gehrman Pit October 09 D-7
