slopes, the same as you noted in your inspection report. At
this time we have 6000 yards stored on the south side of the
mine, 6,000 yards above the east face and 2,330 yards on the
northwest side of the mine floor for a total of 14,330 cu-yd's.
The 2,330 cu-yds is topsoil and overburden removed from the area
above the mine face in the southwest corner of the permit area.
In addition, the undisturbed east area has approximately 10,300
yards (4" on 19.12 ac.) of topsoil and approximately 25,700
yards of overburden that can be used as topsoil. Combining the
current stockpiled amount of 14,300 yards and the 25,700 yards
of overburden, we then have 36,000 yards available for
reclamation. This will cover 66.94 acres four inches deep, more
then enough to resoil the slope area around the mine. We do not
believe it is necessary to import 650 cu-yd's into the mine at
-this time and thus the $11,283 allotted for that task can be
eliminated from the bond.
TASK #009 - CONCRETE/ASPHALT/EQUIPT DEBRIS REMOVAL.
At this time all of the equipment parts noted in your
report have been removed by the previous operators. The
concrete and asphalt fragments have been recycled by running
them through the crusher. This created valuable recycle
material in demand in our market area. The $6,272 allotted for
the removal is no longer needed. We request this be Task
removed from the bond amount required.
CONCLUSION
If the Division concurs with our assessment the bond can be
reduced by $35,277.00 + reducing the indirect costs. For sake
of argument we propose resetting the bond to $111,500 plus $500
for the letter of credit collection, making the total bond
$112,000. If acceptable then only the supplemental bond posted
in July 2009 can be released leaving the original bond intact.
Please call me at (970) 531-8719 when you are ready to inspect
the mine to verify the above information.
If you have any questions please call myself or Steve
O'Brian of Environment, Inc., at (303) 423-7297.
Sincerely,
Ken Evans
cc: Environment, Inc.
file
