2.04.6(2)(b)
• Conductivity Values ranged from 1.2 to 7.6 with an
average of 3.3 mmhos/cm. The DEQ sets a suitable conductivity
range for overburden and regraded soils from 0-8. No problems
are anticipated with respect to salinity.
Saturation Percentage Values ranged from 31.2 to 85.5 with an
average of 45.7%. The DSL sets unsuitability criteria at less
than 25% and greater than 85%. The DEQ sets marginal criteria at
less that 25% and greater than 80%. Only one analytical value is
close to the unsuitable criteria. This sample is immediately
above the coal seam in core hole CC-3-90. The SAR value for this
sample is 4.21 which tends to offset the high saturation percent-
age. The next highest saturation percentage vale is 59%. Since
only one sample tested was close to the unsuitability criteria,
no problems are anticipated with saturation percentage.
Texture Class Values ranged from 6 to 51 with an
average of 22% clay. Values of over 35% clay are considered
suspect. Two samples were over the 35% suspect level, one at 38%
and the other at 51%. The sample with 51% clay is of most con-
cern. This is the same sample that had the 85.5% saturation
percentage and the SAR value of 4.21. A high clay content pre-
cipitates the high saturation percentage. Since only one sample
is significantly over the suspect level no problems are antici-
pated with respect to texture in the regraded overburden.
• Sodium Absorntion Ratio Values ranged from 0.75 to 8.05 with an
average of 4.43. The DEQ sets a suitable SAR range for regraded
overburden from 0-10. No problems are anticipated with respect
to SAR.
Selenium Values ranged from 0.0 to 0.07 with an
average of 0.01 ppm. The DSL sets a suspect Selenium level of
greater than 0.1 ppm for regraded overburden. No problems are
anticipated with respect to Selenium.
Boron Values ranged from 0.0 to 0.4 with an
average of 0.13 ppm. The DEQ set an suitable level of less than
5.0 ppm. None of the samples exceeded the 5.0 ppm limit. No
problems are anticipated with respect to Boron.
Nitrate, Nitrogen Values ranged from 0.0 to 5.5 with an
average of 2.6 ppm. The DEQ sets an unauitable level of greater
than 50 ppm for aquifer restoration. None of the samples exceed-
ed the 50 ppm limit. No problems are anticipated with respect to
Nitrate, Nitrogen.
• 2.04-9
