The Grand County Road and Bridge <br />Department, representing the County, is requesting a Special Use Permit (SUP) which would allow gravel <br />mining and crushing operations on 92.38 acres off of County Road 3. The proposed project is located <br />approximately one-half mile east of the Williams Fork Reservoir and lies north of Grand County Road 342. <br />The property is more particularly described as part of the N'/2SW'/4 and S'/2NW'/4 of Section 31, Township 1 <br />North, Range 78 West of the 6th P.M., Grand County, Colorado. <br />The proposed mining area is bordered by Lock-n-Vale Ltd. on the West, City and County of Denver on the <br />South, Williams Peak Ranch on the East and Kathleen and Patterson Shaw's property on the North. Currently, <br />the site is being used as dryland pasture. <br />The pit will be accessed from County Road 3 by a short 1100' section of road which runs perpendicular to <br />County Road 3. ?This short section of road shall be designated a County Road Number. <br />This Special Use Permit is issued for a 92.38 acre area, however mining cannot exceed twenty (20) acres at any <br />one time. ?The mining of this 92.38 acre area is only allowed in twenty (20) acre blocks with reclamation of
